Out on Friday, September 25, it is the first CANDLEBOX music to feature Klett since 2012’s "Love Stories & Other Musings" and his return from a ten-year hiatus. The independent release was produced by Kemble Walters and mastered by Jeremy Costa, and lands a week into the band’s 32-date "Can’t Quit You" North American tour, which opened on September 17 at The Pageant in St. Louis.
He died on Tuesday, September 15; a cause of death has not been revealed. McCracken drummed for MAX WEBSTER from 1976 until the band dissolved in 1981, played on four studio albums and co-wrote and sang lead on the 1979 hit "A Million Vacations", and collaborated with RUSH and Neil Peart on 1980’s "Battle Scar". He later played with TRIUMPH, WRABIT and KLAATU and released a solo album, "Audioscapes", in 2000. Kim Mitchell, Lee Aaron and Geddy Lee paid tribute.

In a social media post the band said they had “made the decision to cancel all remaining shows for 2026” and apologised to fans, festivals and everyone affected. No reason was given. In August the band ended its set at the SaariHelvetti festival in Tampere, Finland after about two minutes; organisers attributed the early exit to health problems.

The Swedish band announced his death in a social media post on 15 September. Andersson, a member since 1998, died after a four-year battle with glioblastoma. Disfear previously lost founding bassist Henrik Frykman in 2011 and vocalist Tomas Lindberg.

In a new interview with George Dionne of KNAC.COM, Michael Sweet said the reason was not Oz Fox's 2024 brain surgery but the fact that he had stopped taking his blood pressure medication. By the time Fox reached the studio his blood pressure was dangerously high and he was not able to play, so Sweet offered to cover the parts and ended up playing all of the guitars, solos included. Speaking on the Groove - The No Treble podcast, bassist Rachel Bolan discussed the worldwide search the band launched in partnership with instrument retailer Sweetwater. He said they have watched around 300 submissions, with roughly 20 more arriving outside the campaign. "What we do is we'll get four or five people through these submissions, and, all right, send them the clean tracks, and they'll sing on top of them and send them back... Let's get a few of them together, get them into New Jersey. We'll get in a room over the course of a week or whatever, and we will just see if it works, see if it works in a live situation." He added that singing perfectly in a studio does not always transfer to the stage, and said the difference this time is that the band has "the luxury of time".
LINKIN PARK Documentary 'Unshatter', Directed By JOSEPH HAHN, Opens In Theaters On September 30
DJ and creative director Joseph Hahn, who directed the film, spoke to Mel Ramsay of BBC News about how it came together. It centres on the band's 2024 return, seven years after the death of singer Chester Bennington in 2017, and follows their reformation with Dead Sara's Emily Armstrong on vocals and Colin Brittain on drums. Filming began at the São Paulo show marking the launch of their latest album "From Zero", and the documentary carries behind-the-scenes footage, archival clips and recent performances. On the title, Hahn pointed to kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold: "The important part of it all is to not completely fix it, but have some kind of repair and not be afraid to show your scars."

Conception and ex-Kamelot singer Roy Khan appeared at Center Stage Theater in Atlanta on September 12 and played a set drawn entirely from his 1998-2011 run with Kamelot, ten songs including "When The Lights Are Down", "Karma", "Ghost Opera" and "March Of Mephisto". I got one more song to record — well, two more songs to finish — and then I'm gonna start shopping." None of the four solo singles he has issued since 2023 — a cover of Rammstein's "Du Hast", "Anti-Droid", "Technical Exorcism" and "Savages" — will appear, though he would like "Savages" as a bonus track. He wants label distribution and has not set a release date.
ADRIAN VANDENBERG: 'I'm Completely Healed' After Contracting Bacterial Infection
In a video message released on September 13, the Dutch guitarist said: "I'm completely healed. No damage to my organs or body parts or whatever." His management and U.S. agency Paramour Group are moving the "My Whitesnake Years" American tour, pulled in July, to next year — most likely around May and connected to a West Coast run. Lou Koller, the New York hardcore band's vocalist and Pete's brother, died in July at the age of 59 after a long battle with an esophageal tumor. In a video message released on September 13, guitarist Pete Koller said: "He wanted us to keep the band going, and I'm not sure how we're gonna do that, but we're working on it." He also thanked everyone who donated to or played the benefit shows, and said the band has "some things in the works."

Speaking to Laughing Monkey With Shawn Ratches, guitarist Stevie Dacanay gave his first detailed account of the multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 26 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina in the early hours of August 21. The band's bus was left undrivable and the highway stayed closed until around 8 a.m. BUCKCHERRY said at the time that all members of the band and touring crew were safe and unharmed, and offered condolences to the family and friends of the person who died. Stevie also said some outlets had spun the band's involvement as bigger than it was.

McBrain stepped down from Iron Maiden's touring lineup in December 2024 but remains the band's drummer. Asked by Metal Hammer whether he would record again, he said: "If Iron Maiden went into the studio, I'd be delighted to get back on with them. But it'd have to be something more simple really." According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the suit was filed in Fulton County Court on September 3 and claims the late guitarist had never been bought out of his share of MASTODON and its related businesses before his death. The estate also accuses the band of using Hinds's likeness after his death to promote its recently released album “Marrow Deep”. On September 11 the surviving members said via social media that “a private business dispute with the estate of our dear departed friend Brent Hinds was made public”, and that they believe the claim is meritless and intend to defend it vigorously.

In an excerpt from his newly released memoir shared via Rolling Stone, Dave Mustaine recalls learning online, like everyone else, of the sexually explicit videos of David Ellefson that surfaced on May 10, 2021, and writes that he was already re-evaluating a relationship of nearly 40 years. AC/DC Concert In Toronto Canceled By LIVE NATION After Storm Damage
Live Nation has cancelled AC/DC's 16 September concert at Toronto's 50,000-capacity Rogers Stadium after an assessment of the damage from last week's storm found that affected sections of the venue must be removed and rebuilt. Speaking to Frank Godla of Metal Injection, King Diamond said a new MERCYFUL FATE album is planned for 2027 and a KING DIAMOND album for 2028, describing the MERCYFUL FATE record as sounding “classic, old-fashioned, but modern and clear”. He also revealed that an official documentary about his life has been filming for three years. It is directed by Danish filmmaker Frederik Brun Madsen, written by Peter Engel and produced by UpNorth Film AS in co-production with Wingman Media. The film traces his career from his early bands BRAINSTORM (1976) and BLACK ROSE (1978-1980) to the present day and includes rare live footage from the late 1970s. It is backed by the Danish Film Institute and is planned for the festival circuit.

In an interview with Italy's TrueMetal.it, transcribed by Blabbermouth, the pair addressed the absence of founding bassist Jim Sheppard from the reunion line-up of Jeff Loomis (guitar), Van Williams (drums), Jack Cattoi (guitar), Semir Özerkan (bass) and Berzan Önen (vocals). In a statement posted on his official site on 8 September, the Estate of John Sykes says it has not approved or authorised the forthcoming Golden Robot Records release and was not involved in the decision to release it. The Estate adds that it has no knowledge of a recording titled “One Way”, is seeking confirmation that the music being released is entirely an original John Sykes recording, and wants assurance that no AI-generated or AI-recreated elements representing his voice, playing, composition or performance have been incorporated.
