DOLL$BOXX is a Japanese five-piece all-female loud-rock band formed by vocalist Fuki and the Gacharic Spin instrumentalists Hana on drums, TOMO-ZO on guitar, F Chopper KOGA on bass and Oreo Reona on keyboards. The group began in 2012 after Fuki joined a Gacharic Spin tour as a support vocalist. Its musical identity places metal power, hard-rock motion, progressive structure and vivid pop color inside a single “toy box,” with every member contributing at an unusually high technical and visual level. The debut album DOLLS APARTMENT was released on December 12, 2012. Songs including “Loud Twin Stars,” “Take My Chance” and “Merrily High Go Round” introduced Fuki’s expansive high register against an ensemble in which guitar, bass, drums and keyboards constantly collide and exchange the lead. The material can be structurally complex, but the melodies remain immediate. That combination, together with strong videos, fashion and humor, helped the band attract attention in Japan and abroad. After an extended interval, DOLL$BOXX returned in 2017 and released the five-track mini-album high $pec in November. “Shout Down,” “Sub-liminal,” “HERO,” “世界はきっと愛を知ってるんだ” and “Dragonet” preserved the debut’s color while moving toward heavier low end, sharper modern production and more detailed rhythmic design. Touring and the 2018 video release high $pec High Return confirmed the group’s physical impact as a live band and the distinct stage presence of all five performers. The band returned to the stage for the Gacharic Spin × DOLL$BOXX Zepp Tour “GACHA BOXX” in late 2024 and early 2025, then accelerated again in 2026 under the “TAKE OFF” banner. An eight-years-in-the-making one-man show, New Rhythm, was announced for September 26, with an additional performance to follow. The group also announced “Hashitte! Gachitte! Dogengers!,” its first new song in nine years and the opening theme for a tokusatsu television drama, for release on August 12, 2026. DOLL$BOXX remains distinctive because the members bring experience from separate careers back into the same formation and update the music each time they reunite.
