Biography
Zilqy is a Japanese four-piece global all-female metal band launched in 2025. The line-up brings together Anna on vocals, Toki on guitar, formerly of Aldious, Miho on bass, formerly of LOVEBITES, and Kano on drums. The band name combines “Zilch” and “Queen,” suggesting a queen that belongs to no one and to everyone at the same time.
Musically, Zilqy identifies its sound as post-melodic nu-metal. The band connects the weight and production language of global heavy music with Japanese melodic instinct and electronic-driven groove. Anna’s bilingual voice gives the songs a direct emotional center, while Toki, Miho and Kano shape the music with heavy riffs, low-end pressure and a live-ready sense of impact.
The group released its first EP, Vacant Throne, on November 5, 2025. The music video for “Carry On” introduced the band’s visual and musical identity, followed by lyric videos for “Cannonball,” “Disguise,” “Bleeding Love” and “Realize,” making the debut feel like a complete statement rather than a single-song introduction.
Although the members’ previous work in Aldious, LOVEBITES and other Japanese heavy music contexts gives Zilqy immediate credibility, the band is not simply an extension of those histories. It is a new project with a modern metal vocabulary, a clear global direction and the potential to become one of the notable Japanese metal stories of the late 2020s.
