The band returned to the stage on August 28 at Casa Cafe in Chicago, their first show since guitarist Bo Lueders died in April. Guitarist Marcos Curiel and bassist Mark "Traa" Daniels revealed that recording is complete on the follow-up to 2024's 'Veritas'. The sessions took place at producer Will Yip's new Memory Music Studios in the Whitman section of South Philadelphia.
The disc captures all 21 songs from KOIAI's set at 'KOIAI LIVE TOUR 2026 Starting Over in TOKYO / HEAVY KAWAII FES 2026', held at Tokyo's Meijiza on July 31. In a notice on their official site, the band say the contract dispute with an overseas label that they had previously told fans about has not been resolved on the terms they wanted, and that some of their recordings and music videos remain pulled from streaming services.
