HAGANE

HAGANE is a Tokyo-based melodic speed metal band formed on June 23, 2018. True to the steel image suggested by the band name, HAGANE combines hard guitar riffs, bright twin-lead work and clear melodies, creating one of the more fantasy-driven and speed-oriented sounds in Japan’s modern girls-metal scene. The debut EP EpisodeØ compressed bright melodies and technical playing into a concise first statement, while Code ; 9021 expanded that identity into a full-length album. A key part of HAGANE’s appeal is the balance between metal hardness and vocal accessibility that can also connect with J-rock listeners. After line-up changes, the band continued forward and introduced Nagi and JUNNA in 2024. From Life Goes On! to TOP OF THE TOWER, the renewed HAGANE placed restart, ascent and positive energy at the center of its songs, while keeping the guitar-driven brilliance that defined the early material. With METAL QUEST in 2026, HAGANE linked adventure imagery with the speed and lift of melodic metal, making the current line-up’s character even clearer. Combining brightness, speed, hard-edged playing and memorable vocal lines, HAGANE occupies an important place in the current Japanese metal scene.
