BAND-MAID

BAND-MAID is a five-piece Japanese hard rock band formed in 2013. The group built its identity around the striking contrast between maid-inspired visuals and serious, aggressive rock musicianship. The line-up consists of Miku Kobato on guitar and vocals, SAIKI on vocals, KANAMI on guitar, AKANE on drums and MISA on bass, with dual-vocal color and tightly arranged ensemble playing at the core of the sound. Early releases such as New Beginning and Brand New MAID retained an accessible J-rock edge while gradually increasing the weight of the riffs and the impact of the performances. From Just Bring It onward, the songwriting and musicianship became sharper, and WORLD DOMINATION made the band’s international ambition explicit. CONQUEROR widened the melodic range, while Unseen World raised the level of aggression and technical detail. BAND-MAID’s strength is that complex rhythmic turns and instrumental fire rarely overwhelm the hooks. The result is a sound that crosses hard rock, alternative metal and J-rock without losing a clear identity. With Epic Narratives in 2024 and SCOOOOOP in 2025, BAND-MAID continued to expand its global presence as a Japanese rock band with world-scale appeal. Combining technical playing, memorable melodies and a powerful live connection, the band stands as one of the defining names in modern Japanese hard rock.
