Bubble

Bubble is a two-song single released by Nippon Crown on 16 January 2019. The single 'glory' came out the same day, an unusual arrangement in which two records of different character were issued together. The title song carries the lightness its name suggests while the rhythm section stays packed from beginning to end. The vocal melody bounces, and the guitar and drums push it up from underneath — a clear example of the writing BAND-MAID does best, where a song sounds bright and the playing under it is heavy. An official music video was made for it. 'Smile', the coupling, leaves more air than the A-side. Within the two-single frame, 'glory' takes the hard side and Bubble the open one; the division suggests the pair was meant to be heard together rather than one at a time. The title song went on to CONQUEROR that December and was chosen again for 10th Anniversary Best Vol.1 in 2023. With its same-day companion, it marks where the band stood that year.
