Sense

Sense is a three-song single released by Pony Canyon on 27 October 2021. It sits after the album Unseen World and before the EP Unleash, in the stretch where the direction taken after the label move had become legible. The title track builds from a restrained opening and raises the density by degrees. A 'Sense (TV Size Ver.)' had been issued digitally on 6 September that year, so the short-form arrangement existed first and the full version was placed after it. An official music video followed. The two coupling songs are sharply distinguished: '火花' pushes Japanese lyrics to the front, while 'Corallium' works through the layering of its parts. What matters most about the release, though, is that all three songs went on to the 2022 EP Unleash unchanged. Rather than standing as a self-contained record, the single amounts to publishing a third of the EP in advance. That makes it necessary reading for Unleash. Of the eight songs on that EP, this one release tells you which three were finished first.
