2. Biography: A History of Indomitable Soul and Evolution

The history of DARK MOOR is one of continuous lineup changes and subsequent musical evolution, but at its core, Enrik Garcia's steadfast musical vision has always existed.

2.1 The Early Years: Demo Recordings and Searching for Style (1993-1998)

In 1993, the band was formed in Madrid, centered around guitarists Enrik Garcia and Javier Rubio. For the first few years after formation, they were unable to secure a stable lineup, and a period of searching for their unique sound continued. During this time, they produced three demo tapes: "Tales of the DARK MOOR" (1996), "Dreams of Madness" (1998), and "Flying" (1999).

During this period, drummer Jorge Sáez and bassist Anan Kaddouri joined in 1996, followed by vocalist Elisa C. Martin in 1999. Elisa's addition was decisive, and her powerful, androgynously charming vocals bestowed a strong individuality upon the band.

2.2 Debut and International Recognition: The Impact of "Shadowland" (1999)

In the summer of 1999, they released their debut album "Shadowland" through Arise Records. While retaining influences from German Metal, it featured symphonic arrangements. This success led to them being selected as the support act for Demons & Wizards' Spanish tour, establishing their unshakable status within Spain.

2.3 The Arrival of the Golden Age: Fusion with Italian Production (2000-2002)

In 2000, they teamed up with producer Luigi Stefanini at New Sin Studios in Italy to create their second album, "The Hall of the Olden Dreams." This work was acclaimed as a monument of symphonic power metal, and "Maid of Orleans," themed around Joan of Arc, brought a great shock to Japanese fans as well.

The third album, "The Gates of Oblivion" in 2002, enhanced their expansion into the Asian market through a contract with JVC (Victor Entertainment), pushing the band's popularity to its peak. Epic tracks like "Dies Irae (Amadeus)," an homage to Mozart, were included, but contrary to their commercial success, cracks were beginning to form within the band.

2.4 Crisis of Division and the Setting Sail of the New DARK MOOR (2003)

In 2003, three core members—Elisa, Albert, and Jorge—departed to form "Dreamaker." Although disbandment was feared, Enrik made the decision to sustain the band by recruiting an unknown newcomer, Alfred Romero, as the new vocalist.

2.5 Establishment of the Alfred Era and Deepening of Musicality (2003-2009)

The fourth album under the new lineup, "DARK MOOR" (2003), became a darker and more complex work, including a suite depicting the life of Attila the Hun. They continued their musical deepening with "Beyond the Sea" (2005), themed around H.P. Lovecraft and others; the highly polished "Tarot" (2007), using tarot cards as a motif; and "Autumnal" (2009), which quoted Tchaikovsky.

2.6 Return to Spain and Challenging Modern Rock (2010-2015)

In 2010's "Ancestral Romance," they faced the history and culture of their homeland, Spain, taking up the hero El Cid and the works of poet Espronceda. While they showed a melodious approach in 2013's "Ars Musica," they made a bold shift toward modern hard rock in 2015's "Project X," themed around UFOs and conspiracy theories, which stirred mixed reviews.

2.7 Contemporary DARK MOOR: Celtic, Folk, and a Transition to Single-focused Activities (2018-Present)
