The Gates of Oblivion

LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
The Gates of Oblivion is a work on which DARK MOOR layered classical guitar phrases, grand keyboards and highly narrative melody. To the drive of racing power metal, Spanish passion and symphonic color are added. It is a record that became the last work on which Elisa C. Martín was a member. On “The Gates of Oblivion,” “Nevermore” and “Starsmaker (Elbereth),” the scenery changes with each song, advancing naturally from a dramatic introduction to a big chorus. Songs like “In the Heart of Stone” and “Your Symphony” breathe the band’s full playing too. A fantastical, gorgeous metal world spreads throughout. As a culmination of the early period and an announcement of the end of an era, it is an important record.
