Ancestral Romance

Ancestral Romance is a work on which DARK MOOR bound classical melody, symphonic breadth and refined power metal. Songs with a medieval and literary air do not rely on speed alone, carefully building up elegant melody and drama. Themed on Spanish history and legend, it is a conceptual record. On “Gadir,” “Love from the Stone” and “Mio Cid,” orchestral color and guitar drive cross, letting one linger in a graceful worldview. A love for their homeland’s culture is also felt, such as “Canción Del Pirata,” themed on a Spanish poem. Songs like “Alaric the Marnac” and “Tilt at Windmills” breathe the band’s full playing too. They grandly draw out history and romance. It is a record on which the band’s Spanish identity strongly appears.
