『For All Kings』は、ANTHRAXがスラッシュの切れ味と現代的な重量感を融合させた第11作だ。ジョーイ・ベラドナのヴォーカルを軸に、新たにジョナサン・ドネイス(元シャドウズ・フォール)がリード・ギターに加わり、その録音デビュー作となった。プロデュースはジェイ・ラストン。刻みリフの鋭さと大きく歌えるコーラスが、全編で高い次元に結び付いている。 “Breathing Lightning”はメロディックな魅力を持つ代表曲となり、“Evil Twin”“Blood Eagle Wings”では力強い疾走と重厚な展開が炸裂する。ベラドナ復帰後の勢いをそのまま推し進めた本作は、米ビルボード200のトップ10入りを果たした。アルバムは高く評価され、ドネイスの加入によってバンドのライン・アップは再び安定を得た。“You Gotta Believe”“Suzerain”のような楽曲では、複雑なリフと力強い展開が交錯する。ベラドナ復帰後の2作目として、ANTHRAXが現在も高い創作力を保っていることを鮮やかに示した。長いキャリアを感じさせながらも、スラッシュの楽しさを現在の演奏で更新した、力強く開かれた一枚である。

For All Kings is the eleventh album, on which Anthrax fused thrash sharpness with modern weight. Around Joey Belladonna's vocals, new lead guitarist Jonathan Donais (formerly of Shadows Fall) joined, making it his recording debut. Jay Ruston produced. The sharpness of the carving riffs and big, singable choruses bind at a high level throughout. "Breathing Lightning" became a signature song with a melodic charm, and "Evil Twin" and "Blood Eagle Wings" explode with powerful drive and weighty development. Pushing forward the momentum after Belladonna's return, the album reached the Top 10 of the US Billboard 200. While showing a long career, it updates the fun of thrash with present-day playing — a powerful, open record.
