For All Kings is the eleventh album, on which Anthrax fused thrash sharpness with modern weight. Around Joey Belladonna's vocals, new lead guitarist Jonathan Donais (formerly of Shadows Fall) joined, making it his recording debut. Jay Ruston produced. The sharpness of the carving riffs and big, singable choruses bind at a high level throughout.
"Breathing Lightning" became a signature song with a melodic charm, and "Evil Twin" and "Blood Eagle Wings" explode with powerful drive and weighty development. Pushing forward the momentum after Belladonna's return, the album reached the Top 10 of the US Billboard 200.
