UNDER GROUND

『UNDER GROUND』は、閉塞した状況の中でも自分を失わず、出口へ向かう力を3曲へ凝縮したEPである。「Alive」は、存在していること自体を宣言するような歌と、地面を蹴るリズム、重心の低いリフによって始まる。生存を受動的な状態ではなく、意志を持って選び続ける行為として鳴らす点に、TRiDENTの強さが表れている。 「Wake up !!!」は、眠りや停滞から目を覚ませと迫るような勢いを持ち、切迫したテンポと反復されるフックが身体を直接動かす。「VS」は、対立する相手だけでなく、自分の弱さや恐れとも向き合う戦いを想起させる曲で、短い作品の最後に最も硬い緊張を置く。三曲とも低音の圧力が強い一方、歌の輪郭は埋もれず、メロディが聴き手を出口へ導く。 『ADVANCE GENERATION』後のTRiDENTが、フルアルバムとは異なる集中力で音を研ぎ澄ました作品でもある。ASAKAのギターは必要な一撃へ絞られ、SERINAのベースは地下を走る脈動のように曲を押し、NAGISAのドラムは息苦しさを突破する速度を生む。『UNDER GROUND』は暗さを目的にした作品ではなく、暗い場所で蓄えた力を確認するEPであり、その圧力は対になる『OVER GROUND』で地上へ解放される。

UNDER GROUND condenses the effort to preserve identity and move toward an exit while trapped inside a restrictive situation. “Alive” begins with a vocal that functions as a declaration of existence, supported by a ground-kicking rhythm and a low-centered riff. Survival is not presented as a passive condition; it is something chosen repeatedly through will, which makes the song a precise expression of TRiDENT’s character. “Wake up !!!” carries the force of an alarm aimed at sleep and stagnation. Its urgent tempo and repeated hook act directly on the body. “VS” suggests conflict not only with an external opponent, but with weakness and fear inside the self, placing the hardest tension at the end of the short record. All three songs apply substantial low-end pressure, yet the vocal outline remains clear and the melody continues to point toward an exit. The EP also shows how TRiDENT sharpened its sound after ADVANCE GENERATION by working with a much tighter frame. ASAKA’s guitar is reduced to necessary strikes, SERINA’s bass pushes like a pulse beneath the surface, and NAGISA’s drums generate the speed required to break through suffocation. UNDER GROUND is therefore not darkness for its own sake. It is a record about recognizing power stored in darkness, pressure that would be released above the surface on the companion EP OVER GROUND.
