Acoustic Adventures – Volume Two is a fulfilling work that is the conclusion of the two-part set on which Sonata Arctica reconstructs its past songs with acoustic arrangement. Following the previous Volume One, excluding the fierce metal sound, it again carefully draws the beauty of melody and lyricism the songs hold, within the warm, delicate resonance of acoustic instruments. Content on which Tony Kakko’s expressive vocals resound all the more deeply within this quiet vessel. As in the previous work, rather than merely replaying past signature songs, it carefully reinterprets their development and choruses within the acoustic form. By listening through the two works, you can again savor, from a wholly new angle, the many classics that have colored Sonata Arctica’s long career.
