『The Gang's All Here』は、新ヴォーカリストのエリック・グロンウォールを迎え、SKID ROWのストリート感と攻撃性を再び前面に出した第6作だ。グロンウォール(ヴォーカル)、デイヴ・スネイク・セイボとスコッティ・ヒル(ギター)、レイチェル・ボラン(ベース)、ロブ・ハマースミス(ドラム)という布陣で、ニック・ラスクリネッツがプロデュースした。約16年ぶりのスタジオ・アルバムとして、80年代末のエネルギーを現代の演奏で鳴らしている。 冒頭の“Hell or High Water”の疾走、表題曲の推進力は、再始動したバンドの高揚を伝える。“Time Bomb”“Tear It Down”のような楽曲にも、太いリフと張り上げるハイトーンが噛み合う。元H.E.A.Tのグロンウォールは、白血病との闘病を経てこの大役を掴んだ。“Resurrected”“Nowhere Fast”のような楽曲でも、二本のギターの絡みと大きなコーラスが一体となる。グロンウォールはかつてスウェーデン・アイドルのオーディションで“18 and Life”を歌っており、この加入はまさに運命的な巡り合わせだった。earMUSICから発表された本作は、往年のファンを大いに歓喜させた。単に過去をなぞるのではなく、曲の勢いそのものを武器にし、批評家からも高く評価された力強い再始動作である。

The Gang's All Here is the sixth album, on which SKID ROW again brought its streetwise feel and aggression to the front, welcoming new vocalist Erik Grönwall. With the lineup of Grönwall (vocals), Dave "Snake" Sabo and Scotti Hill (guitar), Rachel Bolan (bass) and Rob Hammersmith (drums), Nick Raskulinecz produced. As their first studio album in about 16 years, it sounds the energy of the late 1980s with contemporary playing. The drive of the opener "Hell or High Water" and the momentum of the title track convey the exhilaration of a restarted band. Thick riffs and soaring high notes mesh on songs like "Time Bomb" and "Tear It Down" too. Ex-H.E.A.T's Grönwall grasped this major role after a battle with leukemia. Not merely tracing the past, it uses the momentum of the songs themselves as a weapon — a powerful restart highly praised by critics too.
