『Resurrection Day』は、RAGEがツイン・ギター体制の力を前面に出し、ヘヴィなリフ、スピード感、メロディックなギターの絡みを一段と濃くした作品だ。ピーヴィー・ワグナーの個性的な声は、攻撃性の中にもバンド固有の哀愁を残し、曲を単なるパワー・メタルの型にはめない。“再生”という題名にふさわしい、力強い勢いを持った一枚である。 序曲“Memento Vitae”から表題曲“Resurrection Day”へと続く冒頭が、作品の新たな出発を高らかに告げる。“A New Land”“Man In Chains”のように鋭く疾走する曲、“Travelling Through Time”“The Age of Reason”のようにドラマ性を強めた曲が交互に現れ、二本のギターが生む厚みと旋律が全編を彩る。 鋭い疾走曲とドラマティックなミドル・テンポ曲が巧みに配置され、アルバムは緊張と高揚を保ったまま進んでいく。“Arrogance and Ignorance”“Extinction Overkill”のような曲では、攻撃性と社会的なテーマが結び付き、バンドの現在の問題意識をそのまま音へと変えている。伝統的なドイツ・メタルの重さと、現代的なアンサンブルの鮮明さを併せ持つ本作は、新体制のRAGEが持つ推進力を明快に示した、充実の再出発作と言える。

Resurrection Day brings the power of a twin-guitar lineup to the front, deepening heavy riffs, speed and melodic guitar interplay. Peavy Wagner’s distinctive voice keeps the band’s own melancholy within the aggression, refusing to confine the songs to a mere power-metal mold — a record with the strong momentum its title of rebirth suggests. The opening run from the overture “Memento Vitae” into the title track “Resurrection Day” announces a fresh start with confidence. Sharp speeders such as “A New Land” and “Man In Chains” alternate with more dramatic pieces like “Travelling Through Time” and “The Age of Reason,” and the thickness and melody of two guitars color the whole. With sharp speeders and dramatic mid-tempo songs deftly placed, the album keeps its tension and uplift as it moves.
