『End of All Days』は、前作で広げたシンフォニックな発想を背景に残しながら、RAGE本来のスピードとリフの推進力を前面へ戻した作品だ。複数のギターが作る厚みと、ピーヴィー・ワグナーの力強い歌が、曲をまっすぐに運んでいく。壮大さと直進力のバランスが取れた一枚である。 “Under Control”“Higher Than the Sky”のように疾走感とフックを両立させた曲、表題曲“End of All Days”や“Fortress”のようにスケールの大きな展開を持つ曲が並び、アルバムに起伏を与える。オーケストラ的な広がりを完全に手放すのではなく、メタルの熱量の中へ自然に溶け込ませているのが巧みだ。 技術だけでなく、曲としての熱量とフックを重視した姿勢が全編に貫かれている。“Frozen Fire”“Silent Victory”のような曲に宿る旋律の強さも印象的だ。“Deep In the Blackest Hole”“Talking to the Dead”のような曲では、重いリフとドラマティックな展開が結び付き、シンフォニックな要素が自然に溶け込んでいる。“Visions”“Face Behind the Mask”のように旋律を活かした曲も並び、攻撃性と叙情のバランスが取れている。シンフォニックな実験を経たRAGEが、パワー・メタルの核へと立ち返った、充実の一枚と言える。

End of All Days keeps the symphonic ideas of its predecessor in the background while bringing RAGE’s native speed and riff drive back to the front. The thickness of multiple guitars and Peavy Wagner’s powerful voice carry the songs straight ahead, striking a balance between grandeur and forward motion. Cuts that pair speed with hooks, such as “Under Control” and “Higher Than the Sky,” sit beside larger-scaled pieces like the title track “End of All Days” and “Fortress,” giving the album shape. Rather than dropping the orchestral breadth entirely, it skillfully dissolves it into the heat of the metal. Throughout, the focus is on a song’s energy and hooks, not technique alone, and the melodic strength in “Frozen Fire” and “Silent Victory” leaves a strong impression. Having passed through symphonic experiment, RAGE returns to the power-metal core here — a fulfilling record.
