Clockwork Immortality

『Clockwork Immortality』は、LOVEBITESがデビュー作で示したスピード・メタルとパワー・メタルの強みを、より大きなスケールへ押し広げた第2作だ。ミドリとミヤコのツイン・ギターは細かく絡み、ハルナのドラムとミホのベースが高速曲を力強く支える。アサミの歌は、その上に高い緊張と華やかさを与える。 “Rising”“Pledge of the Savior”などは、疾走感とドラマ性を両立させる代表的な場面。アコースティックな要素やバラードも取り入れながら、作品全体の核は揺らがない。日本発の正統派メタルが世界へ向けて加速したことを感じさせる一枚だ。 ここで大切なのは、目立つリフやサビだけでなく、音の重さ、リズムの呼吸、歌の表情が曲順の中でどう変化するかである。各パートは単独で主張するためではなく、次のメロディや感情の高まりを強く聞かせるために置かれている。 音量を上げれば低域の圧力や細かなアタックが見え、繰り返し聴けばアレンジの余白とフレーズの受け渡しが浮かび上がる。作品全体を通して聴くことで、単曲では見えにくい緊張と解放の流れもはっきり感じられる。 こうした細部が、楽曲ごとの個性を保ちながら一枚のまとまりへ結び付けている。強さだけでなく、旋律と音色の陰影まで味わえることが、このアルバムを長く聴き返したくなる理由である。

Clockwork Immortality expands the speed-metal and power-metal strengths Lovebites showed on their debut into a larger scale. Midori and Miyako’s twin guitars interlock in detail, while Haruna’s drums and Miho’s bass support the fast material with force. Asami’s voice adds both tension and shine. “Rising” and “Pledge of the Savior” are key examples of the balance between velocity and drama. Acoustic color and a ballad appear as well, but the album’s core never wavers. It feels like a Japanese traditional-metal band accelerating toward an international audience. This expanded liner entry keeps the existing album-specific perspective, then places it within the full listening experience: the way texture, dynamics and sequencing make each section lead into the next.
