『HOT TOPIC』は、世界各地のステージを経験したHANABIE.が、自分たちの個性を最短距離で提示した5曲入りEPである。“ICONIC”は鋭いブレイクダウンと電子音、Yukinaの咆哮、Matsuriの明快なクリーン・ヴォーカルを衝突させ、他者の基準ではなく自分の輪郭を選ぶ意志を冒頭から叩きつける。“Spicy Queen”ではラテン的な熱気とクラブ感覚を取り込み、重低音の圧力を保ったまま身体性の高いグルーヴへ変換。キャッチーさを装飾ではなく、攻撃性を増幅する装置として使っている。 “トキメキAbout you”は恋愛感情の浮遊感をカラフルなシンセと急転するリズムで描き、“GIRL’S TALK”は会話の速度、共感、笑いをライブ映えする掛け合いへ落とし込む。終曲“はなびえんちゃん。のテーマ”はマスコット的な遊び心と極端な音像を結び、作品全体を祝祭的に締めくくる。Hettsuのベースは電子的な低域とバンドの生音を接着し、Chikaのドラムは細かな切り替えを力強く統率する。短い収録時間の中で曲ごとの表情は明確でありながら、色彩、重さ、ユーモア、自信が一本の線でつながる。海外で拡張したスケールと東京の感覚を同時に刻んだ、HANABIE.の2026年型ステートメントである。

HOT TOPIC is a compact statement from a band that has learned how to project its personality across festival stages and international tours without smoothing away its extremes. “ICONIC” opens with serrated breakdowns, electronic detail, Yukina’s screams and Matsuri’s clean hooks colliding in a declaration of self-definition. Rather than separating heaviness from accessibility, HANABIE. makes each element intensify the other. “Spicy Queen” introduces a hotter, dance-oriented pulse, folding Latin-flavored movement and club energy into a low-end-heavy metalcore frame. “Tokimeki about you” turns romantic excitement into bright synth motion and sudden rhythmic shifts, while “GIRL’S TALK” transforms the speed, humor and solidarity of conversation into an immediately performative exchange. “Theme of hanabienchan.” closes the EP by connecting mascot-like playfulness with an exaggerated sonic attack. Hettsu’s bass binds programmed textures to the live band, and Chika’s drumming gives authority to every abrupt transition. The record is brief, but each song has a distinct silhouette and the sequence remains unified by color, weight, humor and confidence. HOT TOPIC captures the expanded scale HANABIE. gained abroad while retaining a specifically Tokyo sense of fashion, language and speed. It is less a summary than a sharpened 2026 manifesto for Harajuku-core.
