To the Metal! is the tenth album on which GAMMA RAY put forth racing riffs, valiant choruses and Hansen-style powerful singing head-on. The songs keep the traditional power-metal style while holding momentum to the end with light melody and tight playing. As the title declares, the band expresses its pure love and passion for metal straight. On the title track “To the Metal,” “Empathy,” “Time to Live” and “Rise,” unhesitating speed and big sing-along choruses line up. Songs like “Shine Forever,” “Deadlands,” “Mother Angel” and “Chasing Shadows” breathe the band’s firm melodic sense too.
