『Sanctuary』は、EVANESCENCEがゴシック／オルタナティヴ・メタルの陰影と、ピアノを含むドラマティックな旋律を軸に磨き上げた2026年6月5日発表の第6作だ。5年ぶりの新作であり、エイミー・リーいわく3年以上を要した。プロデュースはジョーダン・フィッシュ、ニック・ラスカリネッツ、ザック・サーヴィニの三人が分担し、ミックスはサーヴィニが全曲を担当。ベースにエマ・アンザイを迎えた最初のアルバムでもある。 タイトルはリーがステージ上で口にした言葉に由来する。ここが私たちの聖域であり、音楽の力によって安らぎとつながりを得るのだ、と。重いギターは暗い壁を作り、ピアノやストリングス的な色彩がその中に冷たい光を差し込む。“Afterlife”はネットフリックスの『デビル メイ クライ』のために書かれ、“Who Will You Follow”はバンド初の全米ハード・ロック・ソング首位となった。“How Do I Heal”と“Forever Without You”ではリーがピアノの前へ戻り、締めの“Wide Open Heart”は冷たいシンセの分散和音から静かに膨らんでいく。美しさと重さが対立せずに共存する、EVANESCENCEらしい深いアルバムである。

Sanctuary, released on 5 June 2026, is the sixth album, honed around gothic/alternative metal shading and dramatic melody including piano. It is their first in five years, and by Amy Lee's account took over three years. Jordan Fish, Nick Raskulinecz and Zakk Cervini shared the production, with Cervini mixing the whole record. It is also the first album with Emma Anzai on bass. The title comes from something Lee said onstage: that this is our sanctuary, where we find comfort and connection through the power of music. Heavy guitars build dark walls, and piano and string-like colour let cold light through them. “Afterlife” was written for Netflix's Devil May Cry, and “Who Will You Follow” became the band's first US Hard Rock Songs No. 1. On “How Do I Heal” and “Forever Without You” Lee returns to the piano, and the closing “Wide Open Heart” swells quietly out of a cold synth arpeggio. Beauty and weight coexist without conflict — a deep record, and unmistakably Evanescence.
