Last Look at Eden is a work on which EUROPE stepped into harder hard rock, not relying only on 1980s flash. Thick riffs and stately singing create weight without losing the strength of the melody. With a grand title track that brings in an orchestra, the band’s new ambition shows through. Centered on the title track, dramatic developments and lyrical hooks continue. Songs like “New Love In Town,” “The Beast” and “Mojito Girl” breathe the band’s full playing too. Balancing respect for the past and present-tense aggression, it vividly shows the fullness of the post-reunion band.
