Pyromania is a work that combined sharp guitar riffs, layer upon layer of choruses and tight rhythm at high density. The songs have radio-friendly accessibility, yet power reaches every detail of the playing and arrangement. Under Mutt Lange’s production, the band opened the door to worldwide success. From this record Phil Collen joined as guitarist. As “Photograph,” “Rock of Ages” and “Foolin'” show, each hook is strong, and the whole album has forward momentum. Songs like “Rock! Rock!
