『Evoke 2010-2020』は、ALDIOUSが結成一〇年の節目に、これまで積み上げてきた楽曲を現在の編成と音像で捉え直した企画作である。過去のレパートリーやなじみ深い素材を、いまのバンドがどのような間合いと表現で鳴らし直すか——その翻訳の妙にこそ、この作品の聴きどころがある。 選曲の派手さよりも、ALDIOUSが一貫して持つツイン・ギターの華やぎ、凛としたヴォーカル、疾走と叙情のバランスが、既発曲を通してどう息づくかに注目したい。リズムの推進力やコーラスの重ね方など、細部の判断にバンドの美意識がはっきりと表れる。姉妹編『Evoke II 2010-2020』と併せて聴くことで、その意図はより立体的に伝わる。 本編アルバムの系譜とは異なる角度からバンドを映す一枚であり、長い活動の中で培った感覚を、過去の楽曲へ改めて注ぎ込んだ記録でもある。馴染みのある楽曲だからこそ、アレンジの選択やアンサンブルの妙が、より鮮明に浮かび上がってくる。スタジオ・アルバムの合間に置かれた寄り道でありながら、バンドの現在地を映す鏡としても機能している。ALDIOUSの歩みを振り返りつつ、現在の充実を確かめられる企画作として、ディスコグラフィに独自の位置を占めている。

Evoke 2010-2020 is Aldious’ decade-anniversary project, revisiting the material the band had built up and recasting it with the current lineup and sound. The pleasure lies in the translation itself — how today’s Aldious re-voices familiar songs with its own timing and expression. More than the boldness of the selection, what stands out is how the band’s consistent qualities — the brilliance of the twin guitars, the clear vocals, the balance of speed and lyricism — breathe through these songs, with the band’s aesthetic showing plainly in choices like rhythmic drive and layered choruses. Heard together with its sister volume Evoke II 2010-2020, its intent comes through more fully. Reflecting the band from an angle different from the main albums, it pours a hard-won sensibility back into earlier songs, holding a distinctive place in the discography.
