Peace of Mind

Peace of Mind is Michael Monroe's third solo album, released in 1996 by Finland's Poko Rekords; Mercury issued the Japanese edition on 25 October the same year. It followed the break-up of Demolition 23., the band he had formed in 1994, after Nasty Suicide announced his retirement from music. As on Life Gets You Dirty, Monroe plays most of the record himself: vocals, guitars, bass, drums, saxophone, harmonica and flute, with Ölli Hilden on guitar and Jimmy Clark on drums. Monroe produced, T.T. Oksala engineered and mixed, and Mika Jussila mastered. Three of the ten songs are covers — The Damned's "Machine Gun Etiquette", MC5's "Kick Out the Jams", and a song written by Stiv Bators and Cheetah Chrome. A promotional film was made for "Make It Go Away" at the time and still sits on Monroe's official channel.
