Blackout States is Michael Monroe's eighth solo album, released by Spinefarm Records on 9 October 2015; Victor Entertainment put the Japanese edition out two days earlier, on 7 October.
It is the first record with Rich Jones, who joined after Dregen left in March 2014, and the line-up settled here into the one that has not changed since: Steve Conte, Rich Jones, Sami Yaffa and Karl Rockfist. Chips Kiesbye produced, Henryk Lipp engineered, Petri Majuri mixed and Svante Forsback mastered.
"Old King's Road" and "Goin' Down With the Ship" were given official music videos. The Japanese edition runs to fourteen tracks with the bonus "Skulls", and a deluxe edition limited to 3,000 copies came with a DVD of Monroe's fiftieth-birthday show.
