Memorial for the Warrior Souls

Memorial for the Warrior Souls documents 24 September 2023 at Showa Women's University Hitomi Memorial Hall in Tokyo — the Tokyo date of the tour behind Judgement Day, which had entered the Oricon weekly chart at number five, and the first tour with fami on bass. The stage set, built to suggest a judge's bench, is part of what the release is for. What stands out is that five songs are captured here for the first time, on video or on record: "We Are The Resurrection", played first that night; "My Orion", the catchiest thing on the new album; "Dissonance", which is as violent as this band gets; "Lost In The Garden", which follows miyako playing Liszt's La Campanella; and "Soldier Stands Solitarily", the album's closer. The twenty-one songs open on "Call For Justice" and close on "Call For Justice (Reprise)". The idea of the night as a courtroom handing down a verdict runs through both the set and the way it is built. It was released on the same day as the new EP LOVEBITES EP II — the first time the band had put out two records at once.
