LOVEBITES EP II

LOVEBITES EP II is the EP released on 28 August 2024, the first studio work since the fourth album Judgement Day in February 2023. Catalogue VICL-65981; five new songs. The title says what it is. In writing this material the band played their 2017 debut THE LOVEBITES EP back over and over — a record of four simple songs, no two of them alike, which nonetheless held together as one thing. That texture is what the five of them reached for again with everything they have since learned. The band's own line for it is that this is not a return to the origin but SHINKA — evolution. The other sense of the title is the line-up. Every song on Judgement Day was finished before fami joined, which makes LOVEBITES EP II the first record the current five wrote from nothing. "Unchained", "Soul Defender", "Where's Identity", "The Bell In The Jail", "Someone's Dream": five songs with five distinct characters that still balance as a set. It is the debut EP's structure, rebuilt by a band with a different amount of command.
