『spice “X”』は、TRiDENTの直線的な強さへ、刺激、陰影、親密さという異なる“味”を加えた5曲入りEPである。冒頭の「SPICE!」は、切れ味のあるギターと跳ねるリズムを大胆なフックへ結びつけ、作品のコンセプトを鮮やかに提示する。「Bite the bullet」は、困難を受け止めて踏み出す意志を、引き締まったアンサンブルと前傾するテンポで表現。攻撃的でありながら、サビでは明快な歌心が残る。 「Nocturne」は速度を抑え、夜の静けさと内側へ沈む感情を描くことで、作品の中心に深い影をつくる。そこから「iCON」が再び外向きのエネルギーを取り戻し、自分自身の価値を肯定するような強さを示す。終曲「be with you」は、そばにいる相手へのまっすぐな思いを、温かいメロディと三人の呼吸で届け、余韻を柔らかく整える。 五曲はそれぞれ色が異なるが、ASAKAの声とギターを軸に、SERINAのベースが旋律を補い、NAGISAのドラムが曲の表情を素早く切り替えるため、作品は散漫にならない。重い音だけで押し切らず、抑制や余白を使って次の爆発を大きく見せる構成は、TRiDENTの成熟を示すものだ。『spice “X”』は『DUX』へ向かう橋渡しであり、三人が持つ多面的な魅力を短い収録時間へ凝縮した作品である。

spice “X” adds several contrasting flavors to TRiDENT’s direct power: provocation, shadow and intimacy. “SPICE!” opens with a sharply cut guitar figure and a spring-loaded rhythm, joining both to a bold hook that immediately defines the EP. “Bite the bullet” translates the decision to face difficulty into a tight ensemble and a forward-leaning tempo. It remains aggressive, yet the chorus preserves the band’s instinct for a clear and memorable vocal line. “Nocturne” slows the pulse and creates the record’s deepest shadow, using a night-time atmosphere to turn the listener inward. “iCON” then recovers outward energy with a statement of self-worth and presence. Closing track “be with you” approaches connection more directly, allowing a warm melody and the trio’s shared breathing space to soften the final impression. Although every song has a different color, the EP never feels fragmented. ASAKA’s vocal and guitar provide the center, SERINA’s bass contributes an additional melodic voice, and NAGISA’s drums change the emotional temperature with precision. Instead of relying only on loudness, the arrangements use restraint and open space to make the next impact feel larger. spice “X” therefore documents a more mature control of dynamics. It also works as an essential bridge to DUX, condensing the trio’s increasingly multidimensional identity into five focused tracks.
