DUX

『DUX』は、TRiDENTが2022年以降に発表してきた楽曲を軸に、新曲を加えて現在地を提示した2ndフルアルバムである。短い「Opening -follow the DUX-」から「KICKASS」へ突入する流れは、主導権を握って前進するという題名のイメージを、即座に音へ変える。「iCON」「Haha!」では、硬質なリフと跳ねるリズム、観客が反応しやすいフックが並び、三人だけで大きな空間を動かすライヴ・バンドとしての強さが前面に出る。 中盤の「twinkle」「NEO FUTURE」「be with you」は、攻撃一辺倒にならず、希望、連帯、未来への視線をメロディで描く。「Nocturne」は夜の陰影を思わせる落ち着いた色を加え、「U」は感情の距離を縮める歌としてアルバムに温度を与える。一方、「Bite the bullet」と「CRY OUT」は、迷いを断ち切るような推進力を担い、終盤の緊張を引き上げる。 最後に置かれた「シグナル」は、これまでの道のりと次の一歩をつなぐ役割を果たす。既発曲を単に並べるのではなく、導入から終曲までの起伏によってTRiDENTの人物像を再編集した点が本作の価値だ。ASAKAの強い歌とギター、SERINAの旋律的な低音とコーラス、NAGISAの機動力あるドラムが均等に存在感を持ち、三人編成の制約を密度へ変える。『DUX』は、インディーズ期の集大成であると同時に、次の展開を率いるための宣言となった。

DUX is TRiDENT’s second full album and a carefully reorganized statement of the band’s work from 2022 onward. The brief “Opening -follow the DUX-” launches directly into “KICKASS,” translating the title’s image of leadership and forward motion into immediate physical impact. “iCON” and “Haha!” continue with hard-edged riffs, bouncing rhythms and hooks built for a crowd, emphasizing how effectively the trio can command a large space without expanding the lineup. The middle sequence broadens the emotional field. “twinkle,” “NEO FUTURE” and “be with you” use melody to address hope, solidarity and a future still being constructed. “Nocturne” introduces a darker, more reflective shade, while “U” brings the listener closer through a warmer and more personal vocal focus. In contrast, “Bite the bullet” and “CRY OUT” restore urgency and raise the tension before the closing stretch. “Signal” finishes the album by connecting the road already traveled with the next step. The value of DUX lies not simply in collecting previously released songs, but in sequencing them as a new portrait of TRiDENT. ASAKA’s forceful vocal and guitar work, SERINA’s melodic low end and supporting voice, and NAGISA’s highly mobile drumming remain equally audible. The trio turns limited personnel into density, making DUX both a summary of its independent period and a declaration that it is ready to lead the next phase.
