My Religion is a record on which TNT rendered its vivid guitar movement and soaring melody into tight song construction. There are many fine phrases, but every song advances around the vocals and choruses, and Ronni Le Tekrø’s technique supports the songs’ accessibility. Returning its footing from the experimental leanings of the previous album to a more orthodox melodic hard rock, it is a record that reaffirms the band’s inherent appeal. On “Invisible Noise,” “She Needs Me,” “My Religion,” “Give Me A Sign” and “Song 4 Dianne,” hard riffs and delicate arrangement intersect, and flair and tension coexist across the album. Tony Harnell’s soaring voice delivers catchy melodies vividly. Shaping the refinement of Nordic melodic hard rock with firm musicianship, it is a rewarding record showing the fullness of 2000s TNT.
