All the Way to the Sun centers on Tony Harnell’s soaring voice and Ronni Le Tekrø’s flowing guitar, and became one dividing point of the period Harnell was in the band. It has a poppier warmth than before, and the songs value the flow of melody over ferocity. Fine guitar nuances and open choruses leave a light, pleasant afterglow across the album. On “A Fix,” “All the Way to the Sun,” “Black Butterfly” and “Ready to Fly,” Harnell’s expressive singing and Le Tekrø’s colorful guitar join tightly, and TNT’s sense of melody rises gently. A song like “What a Wonderful World” also conveys the band’s affection for melody. Foregrounding melodic beauty and warmth over aggression, it is an accomplished record for gently savoring the poppy, melodic side of TNT.
