Moment of Glory

Moment of Glory is a special project on which Scorpions collaborate with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, sounding their signature songs in full-orchestra arrangements. As a rock band and a great classical orchestra face each other head-on, the melodic beauty and drama of the existing songs rise on an entirely new scale. Within arrangements where guitar and orchestra meet as equals, Klaus Meine’s singing is placed in a more solemn context, producing an emotion different from the originals. Heard not as mere orchestral accompaniment but for how orchestral color draws out the depth of the melodies, its significance becomes clear, while songs featuring guest vocalists add varied faces. Though a project apart from the line of signature albums, it is a record that again proves the lyricism and universality essential to Scorpions’ songs. It lets you savor the strength of their melodies from an angle different from a hard band sound — an ambitious work that pursues the theme of fusing rock and classical boldly and earnestly.
