Acoustica is a live album on which Scorpions newly record their signature songs in an acoustic setting. By deliberately letting go of electric force and winning on the resonance of acoustic instruments and the power of the singing itself, the melodic skeleton of the classic songs rises more clearly. Because it does not rely on fierce riffs or distortion, the expressive power of Klaus Meine’s vocals and the beauty of the choral work stand out. By reworking tempos and arrangements, an intimate, warm air different from the originals arises, and even well-known songs hold fresh discoveries. The unity particular to a live setting and the closeness to the audience also heighten the record’s appeal.
