『InVader』は、RECKLESS LOVEがグラム・メタルの派手さと、耳に残るポップなメロディを大胆に組み合わせた第4作だ。2016年3月4日、サンタ・クルーズとのヨーロッパ・ツアー初日に合わせて発表された。ギターはきらびやかで、リズムは軽快、サビはすぐに覚えたくなるほど明快に作られている。前作の高い完成度を受けて、より開かれたラジオ向きの音へ舵を切った作品でもあるだろう。前作という頂点をどう超えるかという難題への、彼らなりの答えがここにあるといえる。 バンドの持ち味である遊び心はそのままに、音作りには電子的な質感や現代的なタイトさも加わる。軽やかに聴けるのに、曲ごとのフックは強い。“Keep It Up All Night”や“Monster”が代表曲となり、とりわけ後者は2022年にドラマ『ピースメイカー』の第6話で使われ、思わぬ形で世界的に再注目された。配信数も大きく伸びたという。デフ・レパード風の“Rock It”、王道バラードの“Destiny”、モトリー・クルー風の“Bullettime”など、振れ幅も大きい一枚だ。晴れやかなロックンロールのエネルギーを求める人へ、迷わず勧められる。

InVader is the fourth album, boldly combining glam metal's flash with pop melody that sticks. Released on 4 March 2016, timed to the opening night of their European tour with Santa Cruz. The guitars glitter, the rhythms are light, and the choruses are built so plainly you want to memorise them at once. Following the previous album's high standard, it also steers toward a more open, radio-friendly sound — their own answer to the problem of how to top a peak. The band's playfulness is intact, while electronic textures and a modern tightness enter the production. It listens lightly, yet the hooks are strong song by song. “Keep It Up All Night” and “Monster” became signature tracks, and the latter in particular was used in episode 6 of the series Peacemaker in 2022, drawing worldwide attention in an unexpected way; streams reportedly rose sharply. The Def Leppard-ish “Rock It,” the classic ballad “Destiny,” the Mötley Crüe-ish “Bullettime” — the range is wide. Recommended without hesitation to anyone wanting bright rock 'n' roll energy.
