『Turborider』は、RECKLESS LOVEがグラム・メタルの享楽性に、80年代シンセ・ポップの色彩をこれまで以上に強く重ねた第5作だ。2022年に発表された。電子的なイントロやキーボードのフックを恐れず、ギターの勢いと高揚するサビへつなげることで、ネオンに照らされたような疾走感を作る。プロデュースはアポカリプティカやロスト・ソサエティを手がけたヨナス・パルッコネン、マスタリングはラムシュタインやローディーで知られるスヴァンテ・フォシュベックが担当した。限定盤には携帯ゲーム機まで付いたという。 懐かしさを再現するだけではなく、ジャンルの楽しさを大胆に増幅したアルバムである。最初に書かれた“Outrun”は、アーケード・ゲームと長髪のメタル・バンドとアクション映画に育てられた世代の記憶を、そのまま一曲に封じ込めたような曲だ。“Eyes of a Maniac”では珍しく暗い題材にも踏み込んでいる。締め近くにはオジー・オズボーンの“Bark at the Moon”のカヴァーも収めた。2024年、オリ・ハーマンがポペダへ加入したことでバンドは無期限の活動休止に入る。今のところ、これが最後のスタジオ作である。

Turborider is the fifth album, on which Reckless Love layered 1980s synth-pop colour over glam metal's hedonism more strongly than ever. Released in 2022. Unafraid of electronic intros and keyboard hooks, they connect them to guitar drive and soaring choruses, creating a neon-lit sense of speed. Jonas Parkkonen (Apocalyptica, Lost Society) produced and Svante Forsbäck (Rammstein, Lordi) mastered. Rather than merely recreating nostalgia, it boldly amplifies the genre's fun. “Outrun,” the first song written for it, is like a single track sealing in the memories of a generation raised on arcade games, long-haired metal bands and action movies. “Eyes of a Maniac” unusually steps into darker material. Near the close sits a cover of Ozzy Osbourne's “Bark at the Moon.” In 2024, with Olli Herman joining Popeda, the band entered an indefinite hiatus. For now, this remains their last studio album.
