Reflections of a Shadow combines racing riffs, thick choruses and narrative melody to paint power metal’s uplift on a large canvas. Layering sharp speed with introspective melody, it carefully adds delicate shading and structure to the hardness. Aggressive, driving cuts such as “That’s Human Bondage” and “True Face in Everyone” sit beside the title track “Reflections of a Shadow” and “Waiting for the Moon,” where shadowed melody and dramatic flow come to the fore.
