Games People Play is the third album on which PINK CREAM 69 combined the big hooks of melodic hard rock with heavier guitar and shadowed songwriting. The riffs advance thickly, and the choruses are clear yet not simply bright. Strong vocal soaring and a steady rhythm section give even catchy songs a measured tension and hardness. It is also known as the last album on which Andi Deris took part. On “Face In The Mirror,” “Way Down,” “Somedays I Sail” and “Till You're Mine,” the heavy air of the 1990s is taken in while keeping accessible melody. Songs like “Shattered” and “Still Alive” breathe a shadowed expression too. It is worth listening to both the accessibility of the choruses and the shadow made by the low ring of the guitar. Showing firm presence in a genre’s transitional period, it is a full record that caps early PINK CREAM 69.
