Poetic Justice is a work on which LILLIAN AXE bound thick guitar riffs and melody tinged with sorrow. Even within energetic hard-rock songs, the shadow made by Steve Blaze’s guitar and Ron Taylor’s emotive singing firmly remain. It is a record on which the band’s expression advanced to a more mature stage. On “Poetic Justice,” “True Believer” and “Living In the Grey,” they do not push through on flashy hooks alone, weaving in quiet introductions and lingering developments. Songs like “Innocence,” “Digital Dreams” and “She's My Salvation” breathe the band’s full playing too. Keeping the framework of melodic hard rock, they create a deeper dimension. Balancing lyricism and drama at a high level, it is a full record.
