『Stereo Crush』は、GOTTHARDが、スイス産ハード・ロックの骨太なグルーヴと、メロディック・ロックの親しみやすい歌心とを軸に、2025年の作品として磨き上げたアルバムだ。リフは過度に尖ることなく、あくまで曲の確かな土台としてしっかりと鳴り、リズム隊は、安定した力強い推進力を生み出している。ベテランならではの、確かな貫禄がみなぎる一枚である。 温かく力強いニック・メーダーの歌が、アルバム全体を力強く導き、サビでは、バンドの持つ、大らかで開放的な魅力が、前面へと出てくる。冒頭“AI & I”の推進力、“Thunder & Lightning”の勢い、そして“Rusty Rose”“Burning Bridges”“Boom Boom”のような曲まで、ブルースの深い影、アリーナ向きの大きな開放感、そして落ち着いたミドルテンポとが、極めて自然に混ざり合っている。 派手な驚きや、大掛かりな仕掛けよりも、各楽曲の持つ、確かなフックが、日常的に、じわじわと身体に残っていく、その持続力を味わいたい一枚だ。長いキャリアを経てもなお、その創作意欲と演奏の質は、少しも衰えていない。安心して音量を上げることのできる、実にGOTTHARDらしい、誠実で充実したメロディック・ハード・ロック作品と言える。円熟した魅力に満ちている。

Stereo Crush is a 2025 album Gotthard has honed around the sturdy groove of Swiss hard rock and the accessible songcraft of melodic rock. The riffs, without becoming overly sharp, sound firmly as the songs’ sure foundation, and the rhythm section generates a steady, powerful drive. A record filled with the sure dignity particular to veterans. Nic Maeder’s warm, powerful singing powerfully leads the whole album, and in the choruses the band’s generous, open appeal comes to the fore. From the drive of the opener “AI & I” and the momentum of “Thunder & Lightning” to cuts like “Rusty Rose,” “Burning Bridges” and “Boom Boom,” a deep blues shadow, a large arena-suited openness and settled mid-tempo mix extremely naturally.
