Come This Madness is a 2026 work that conveys EUROPE’s appeal, centered on the big singing characteristic of Nordic hard rock. Even after a long career, the band’s riffs, singing and arrangement personality are alive and well. Without letting only the flashy signature songs seize the ear, following the sonic center of gravity, the placement of the choruses and the flow between songs reveals a rich album-level expression. While taking in the change of the times, the feel at the band’s core is not lost in the least. The thickness of 1970s hard rock deepened after the reunion and a Nordic melodic sense are again skillfully bound here. Joey Tempest’s voice and the playing of the members, led by John Norum, have reached maturity. Within the flow of the whole discography, it is a full record for confirming the band’s present position.
