Liner Notes

Japanese

“House of the Rising Sun”と“God’s Gonna Cut You Down”は物語を低い声から積み上げ、原曲の時代を尊重しながら自分の劇的な起伏へ置き換えている。 “I Will Always Love You”“Hallelujah”“All by Myself”では、声量を誇示する前に言葉の間と弱音を使い、終盤の爆発力を準備する。

English

Eriksplanations, Vol. 3 is the third collection to turn Grönwall’s online cover performances into an album-shaped statement. It proves that his appeal cannot be reduced to powerful high notes. “Rising Force” places his sharp metal attack at the front, while “Poison” adds theatrical control and a darker sense of character. “House of the Rising Sun” and “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” begin from lower, narrative registers, respecting the age of the songs before rebuilding them around his own dramatic rise. On “I Will Always Love You,” “Hallelujah” and “All by Myself,” restraint becomes as important as volume. Pauses, softer phrases and careful pacing prepare the climactic notes instead of making every moment compete for attention. “Highway Star” and “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” restore the aggression of a working hard-rock frontman, while “The Final Countdown” pays a natural debt to Swedish melodic-rock history. The digital sequence is broadened by “My Way” and “O helga natt,” adding personal philosophy and the sound of his native language. Across metal, classic rock, gospel-inflected song and pop balladry, the method remains consistent: identify the emotional center of the original, then rebuild it through his range, breath control and lived experience. The result is a vocal portfolio, but also an argument for interpretation as a creative act.
