The Bonding is a work on which EDENBRIDGE combined weighty orchestration, clear vocals and lyrical guitar to draw grand symphonic metal. The songs have a large scale, but precisely because of the delicacy of the quiet parts, the choruses and climaxes ring more vividly. The band’s matured expressiveness breathes throughout. On “Mystic River,” “Star-Crossed Dreamer,” “The Invisible Force” and “The Bonding,” the distance between fantastical ornament and human emotion is pleasant. Songs like “Into a Sea of Souls” and “Death Is Not the End” breathe the band’s rich lyricism too. The appeal lies in a construction that lets you immerse in the story at leisure, centered on beautiful melody. Combining grandeur and delicacy, it is a full record for fully savoring the deep appeal of symphonic metal.
