Yeah! is a strongly concept-driven covers album that translates the originals into a DEF LEPPARD-like sound. They vividly play classics of 1970s glam rock and British rock that influenced the band, in their own interpretation. Rather than viewing it as a mere selection of songs, it is interesting to listen to how DEF LEPPARD replaces outside songs with their own timing, voices and guitar ring. Rather than relying on the fame of the originals, the band’s habits surface through the push of the rhythm, the thickness of the choruses and the air around the solos. It is a concept album off the line of their signature works, yet an artist’s aesthetic clearly shows in the way of interpretation.
