『SCOOOOOP』は、BAND-MAIDが積み上げてきたハードロックの推進力を、より現代的でコンパクトなEPの形へ凝縮した作品だ。冒頭からKANAMIのギターとMISAのベースが前へ張り出し、AKANEのドラムは細かいキメで曲を加速させる。メイド姿という視覚的な個性に寄りかからず、演奏力と曲の密度そのもので勝負するバンドの現在地が、短い収録時間の中に鮮明に刻まれている。 “Present Perfect”“Ready to Rock”はライブでの掛け合いと一体感を強く意識したアンセムで、言語を超えて届く直線的なフックが際立つ。一方“What is justice?”や“SUPER SUNSHINE”、“Lock and Load”では、緊張感のあるリフとキャッチーなサビ、モダンな音圧を巧みに配し、勢いだけに終わらせない。“Zen”“SION”といった曲がアクセントを添え、EP全体に起伏を生む。 過去作で培ったテクニカルな展開を保ちつつ、曲ごとの輪郭をより明快にした本作は、世界規模で活動を広げるバンドが次章へ踏み出す確かな助走として響く。SAIKIの歌とMiku Kobatoのコーラスが生むコントラストも健在で、BAND-MAIDらしさを損なわないまま、最短距離で高揚へ向かう一枚である。

SCOOOOOP refines the hard-rock drive BAND-MAID have built over the years into a compact, modern EP. KANAMI’s guitar and MISA’s bass step forward from the very start, while AKANE’s drums use tight accents to push each song with live-ready momentum. The band’s maid imagery is present, but the record works because the playing and the density of the writing are strong enough to stand on their own. “Present Perfect” and “Ready to Rock” are anthems built around stage chemistry, with direct hooks that travel beyond language. “What is justice?,” “SUPER SUNSHINE” and “Lock and Load” place tense riffs, catchy choruses and modern weight so the EP never coasts on speed alone, while “Zen” and “SION” add contrast and shape. Keeping the technical turns of earlier BAND-MAID material but giving each track a sharper outline, and preserving the contrast between SAIKI’s lead and Miku Kobato’s voice, SCOOOOOP feels like a confident run-up toward the band’s next world-scale chapter.
