『Humanoid』は、現代社会を見据えた題材を掲げつつも、その核には鋼のように硬いリフと、直線的なビートを据えたACCEPT流ヘヴィ・メタルだ。2024年の作品として、機械的な緊張感を持つ楽曲から、コーラスで大きく開ける楽曲まで、重さと即効性が全編を通して一貫している。 表題曲“Humanoid”の硬質な推進力、“Frankenstein”の攻撃性、“Man Up”の勢い、そして“Nobody Gets Out Alive”まで、収録曲はいずれも骨太な魅力を備えている。技巧を単なる飾りにするのではなく、ギターの鋭い切れ味、リズムの力強い踏み込み、そして歌メロの明快な押し出しを一体化させることで、古典的な様式を、現在形の音として力強く保っている。 ベテランとなってなお、その創作意欲と演奏力が全く衰えていないことを、堂々と証明した一枚だ。ウルフ・ホフマンのギターを軸とした、バンドの一切ぶれない硬派な姿勢が、全編にみなぎっている。“The Reckoning”“Southside of Hell”のような曲でも、硬いリフと直線的なビートが、作品に一貫した重量感を与えている。まずはリフの鋭い輪郭と、曲ごとに力強く立ち上がる合唱感に耳を傾けたい、ACCEPTらしい充実作と言える。

Humanoid is Accept-style heavy metal that, while raising themes fixed on modern society, sets steel-hard riffs and a straight beat at its core. As a 2024 work, from songs with a mechanical tension to songs that open wide at the chorus, weight and immediacy are consistent throughout. From the hard drive of the title track “Humanoid” and the aggression of “Frankenstein” to the momentum of “Man Up” and “Nobody Gets Out Alive,” every song carries a sturdy appeal. Rather than making technique mere decoration, by unifying the sharp cut of the guitar, the powerful drive of the rhythm and the clear push of the vocal melody, it powerfully keeps the classic style as a present-day sound. It is a record that dignified proves the band’s creative drive and playing have not dimmed at all, even as veterans. The band’s utterly unwavering hard-edged stance, centered on Wolf Hoffmann’s guitar, fills the whole.
