TMG's “SAYONARA (feat. Ado)” Becomes Hiruobi's October Ending Theme — And Burrn!'s November Issue Puts TMG On The Cover
TMG, the band B'z guitarist Tak Matsumoto leads, release their third album, TMG III SAYONARA, on October 14. Its title track, “SAYONARA (feat. Ado)”, with Ado as featured vocalist, has been chosen as the October ending theme of TBS's weekday programme Hiruobi and is used from the October 5 broadcast. Burrn!'s November 2026 issue went on sale the same day with TMG on the cover and in its lead feature, and the band's first national tour in two years, TMG LIVE 2026 “SAYONARA”, plays nine shows in five cities, from Zepp Haneda (TOKYO) on October 5 to Tokyo Garden Theater on October 23.
“SAYONARA (feat. Ado)” closes Hiruobi through October
Hiruobi airs on TBS Television from Monday to Friday, 10:25 to 13:55, and “SAYONARA (feat. Ado)” is its ending theme for October. On October 5 the official B'z YouTube channel posted a clip of the song, about a minute and a half long.
Tak Matsumoto composed “DIGNITY” for Ado in 2023, and the two have performed together on stage.
TMG are also on television this month. On Thursday, October 8, from 22:00, NHK General airs a 45-minute SONGS special on Tak Matsumoto and TMG: Tak Matsumoto, making his second appearance on the programme, talks with Yo Oizumi, and TMG play three songs in the studio — “WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS”, “SAYONARA (feat. Ado)” and “I DON'T SEE ME IN YOUR EYES” — with a comment from Ado. The repeat is at 0:35 on Tuesday, October 13 (late on the night of the 12th). On Monday, October 12, a public holiday, TMG make their first appearance on TBS Television's CDTV Live! Live! (18:30–20:55), playing “SAYONARA (feat. Ado)”. Ado does not perform with them on either programme.
Burrn!'s November issue: the cover, the lead feature and four separate interviews
Burrn!'s November 2026 issue, published by Shinko Music Entertainment on October 5 (A4, 144 pages, 1,200 yen including tax), has TMG on the cover and in its lead feature, with separate one-on-one interviews with all four members: Tak Matsumoto, Jack Blades, Eric Martin and Matt Sorum. At the October 23 show at Tokyo Garden Theater, copies will be sold with a bonus postcard, one per copy.
According to an excerpt the magazine posted on Burrn! Online on October 5, the interviews took place in late August, while the six-song album was still being made. Tak Matsumoto says the tour title “SAYONARA” came first, and that because the tour needed a song of the same name, “SAYONARA” was the first track the band started work on. With Ado's part already settled, the lyric mixes Japanese and English: Tak Matsumoto wrote the Japanese words of the chorus first, and Jack Blades then wrote the verses and the bridge. Tak Matsumoto also says that ending TMG with this round has never once come up among the members.
Two years ago, when their second album TMG II came out, TMG also took the cover and the lead feature of the magazine's November 2024 issue, published on October 4, 2024: twenty-four pages with interviews with Tak Matsumoto, Eric Martin and Jack Blades.
TMG LIVE 2026 “SAYONARA”: nine shows in five cities until October 23
The tour opens with two nights at Zepp Haneda (TOKYO) on Monday, October 5 and Tuesday the 6th, then plays Zepp Sapporo on Friday the 9th, Zepp Osaka Bayside on Tuesday the 13th and Wednesday the 14th, Zepp Fukuoka on Saturday the 17th and Zepp Nagoya on Tuesday the 20th and Wednesday the 21st, and closes at Tokyo Garden Theater on Friday, October 23. Every show starts at 18:00, except Fukuoka at 17:00.
On stage are Tak Matsumoto of B'z on guitar, Jack Blades of NIGHT RANGER on bass and vocals, Eric Martin of MR. BIG on vocals, former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Matt Sorum, and Yukihide “YT” Takiyama on guitar. In its tour announcement, the official B'z site notes that Tak Matsumoto, who made his solo debut with the album Thousand Wave in 1988, enters his 40th year as a solo artist in 2027, and says the 2026 tour may turn out to be TMG's last.
The album comes out on October 14, the second of the two Osaka nights. The next day, Thursday, October 15, Tak Matsumoto, Jack Blades and Eric Martin appear as guests at MASA ITO's TALKING COLOSSEUM BATTLE OF ROCK, a talk event at Osaka Tenmangu Shrine marking 50 years since Masa Ito's debut as a DJ.
TMG III SAYONARA: six songs, including “DOOM”, the theme of the film Yatsuhakamura
TMG III SAYONARA follows TMG I (2004) and TMG II (2024), the album that marked the band's return after twenty years. Its six songs are “SAYONARA (feat. Ado)”, “I CAN'T STAND SLEEPING ALONE”, “I DON'T SEE ME IN YOUR EYES” and “LAST CHANCE (COME ON COME ON)”, followed by a cover of the Beatles' “WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS” and “DOOM”, an instrumental written as the theme song of the film Yatsuhakamura, in cinemas since September 18.
The CD comes in four editions, prices including tax: a limited-quantity edition with a TMG logo beanie (5,000 yen); a first-press limited edition with a Blu-ray of the Zepp Haneda (TOKYO) show from the 2024 tour (89 minutes, 17 songs) (7,000 yen); the standard edition (2,500 yen); and an edition for the B'z PARTY fan club with an acrylic stand (4,000 yen).
Kizuna, Eric Martin's first official documentary film, opens in Japanese cinemas in stages from Friday, December 4. Its fourth trailer traces TMG from the start to their return after twenty years.
