TMG III SAYONARA

TMG III SAYONARA (Vermillion Records, 14 October 2026) is the third album by TMG, the group B'z guitarist Tak Matsumoto started in 2004 and brought back in 2024, after twenty years, with TMG II. Tak Matsumoto, Jack Blades (bass, vocals), Eric Martin (vocals) and Matt Sorum (drums) made six songs this time, and the release date falls in the middle of their autumn tour of Japan, TMG LIVE 2026 “SAYONARA”, on the day of the second of two Osaka shows. The tour's name came before the song. Tak Matsumoto told Burrn!'s November 2026 issue that once “SAYONARA” had been chosen as the tour title, the band needed a song to go with it, and it was the first track they started. Ado, for whom he had composed “DIGNITY” in 2023, is the featured vocalist, and because her part was settled from the start the lyric mixes Japanese and English: Tak Matsumoto wrote the Japanese words of the chorus, Jack Blades the verses and the bridge. “SAYONARA (feat. Ado)” is the October 2026 ending theme of TBS's weekday programme Hiruobi. The official site has said the 2026 tour may be TMG's last; in the same interview Tak Matsumoto says ending the band has never come up among its members. After “I CAN’T STAND SLEEPING ALONE”, “I DON’T SEE ME IN YOUR EYES” and “LAST CHANCE (COME ON COME ON)”, the band cover the Beatles' “WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS”, and the album closes with “DOOM”, an instrumental written as the theme song of the film Yatsuhakamura, in Japanese cinemas from 18 September 2026. There are four pressings: the standard CD, a first-press edition whose Blu-ray holds the Zepp Haneda (TOKYO) show of the 2024 tour, a limited-quantity edition with a TMG logo beanie, and a B'z PARTY fan-club edition with an acrylic stand.
