LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
Target Earth came out on 22 January 2013 on Century Media, the European CD on 18 January, with Avalon issuing the Japanese edition on 22 January as MICP 11081.
It is the first studio album with Daniel "Chewy" Mongrain on guitar, and the only one since Angel Rat in 1991 with Jean-Yves "Blacky" Theriault on bass. Blacky was the main writer here, his first songwriting credit with the band since that record.
After Piggy died in 2005 the band turned the musical ideas he had left behind into two albums, Katorz and Infini. With that material used up their future was undecided; Away has said they chose to go on provided they could do it without losing what makes the band itself, or Piggy's presence in it.
It was recorded at Wild Studio in Saint-Zenon, Quebec and Studio Plateau in Montreal, engineered by Pierre Remillard, mixed by Sanford Parker and mastered by Colin Jordan. Inuit throat singers join the second song, "Kluskap O'Kom", and Periklis Tsoukalas plays on the third, "Empathy for the Enemy". The ten listed here are the standard pressing's.
